In June 2006, four renowned and award winning musicians from Europe - two from Scotland and two from Germany - met at a music festival in southern England. From the spontaneous music sessions at the festival they created the joint project '2Duos' and between April 2008 and June 2011 they toured extensively in Germany, USA, United Kingdom and Holland. Their passion, experience and musicality have proven to be a huge success with both audiences and promoters. Their debut album, 'Until the Cows Come Home' has received great critical acclaim since its release in 2009.
In June 2011 - five years after their first meeting - this highly original musical combination decided that the time had come to, "…give the child a proper name!" And so, the end of 'the project' and the birth of 'Litha' and an exciting new CD 'Dancing Of The Light'. 'Litha' - an Anglo-Saxon word - represents the season of light, festivals and music. Litha was the time when we first met...
The huge variety of possible instrumental and vocal combinations gives Litha an exhilarating, ever-changing sound that takes the listener on a journey not only through their home countries but also through the common ground shared between these two great cultures and beyond.

Formed in 2006 and based between Beattock, Scotland and Stuttgart, Germany, this highly original musical combination discovered the common ground and kinship between two great traditions and blended them into a new and exciting sound. The result of this exciting new collaboration was 'Until the Cows Come Home', an album of delicately interwoven guitars and bouzoukis complementing energy laden fiddles, flutes and whistles and the pure and sweet alto of Gudrun Walther contrasting with the expressive and characterful voice of Claire's long time musical partner, Aaron Jones.
From the lonesome sound of the resonator guitar to the warmth of four part harmonies on songs both traditional and contemporary, this enthralling new release will stand up to listen after listen - Until The Cows Come Home!
The stunning debut release from Claire and Aaron is a culmination of several years of touring as a duo and as well as established guests such as bassist Kevin McGuire (The Felsons, Karine Polwart Band) driving bódhran player Martin O'Neill (Dóchas, Flook, Michael McGoldrick Band) accordionist Leo McCann (Malinky) and resonator guitar ace Nathon Jones, the CD includes guest appearances by friends and family to create a warm and relaxed feel. The album truly reflects and captures the energy and passion that Claire and Aaron have developed during years of touring together. From the energy of their jigs and reels through jaunting waltzes, beautifully interpreted songs to haunting laments, the CD takes you on a journey through their development as a duo.
"Apart from their technical brilliance and
beautiful interpretations of tunes and songs, there is so much power,
personality, passion and drive
in their playing."
"This
is what the music's all about for me, spirited
performances from everyone involved and an obvious
joy at working together
for that ultimate goal."
Pete Fyfe - www.folking.com
"There was an outstanding set by Claire Mann
and Aaron Jones. They often played at great
pace but always with feeling and sensitivity.
Mann is equally accomplished on flute or fiddle,
creating a rich sound on both instruments,
while Jones is a passionate bouzouki player. "Billy Taylor" was at the
heart of the set
highlighting Jones' vocal skills too.
Andy Jurgis - Living Tradition
Claire Mann
(flute, fiddle, whistle and vocals) and
Aaron Jones (bouzouki, guitar, bass and vocals)
are two well established musicians on the folk
scene today. Claire as well as being highly

Rua and Christy O'Leary. Aaron is currently touring
worldwide with award winning Scottish band,
Old Blind Dogs.
They
met on the thriving Edinburgh folk music scene several years ago. Over
the years they have developed a unique and exciting
musical relationship, performing a mixture of traditional and contemporary
Scottish and Irish music and song. They have played together in various
bands and have made countless television, radio and festival appearances
worldwide.
